Marika’s career began in New York City in the late 90s and has since spanned the cities of Paris, Milan, London, Toronto and Lisbon.

Having previously worked alongside luxury brands and mega retailers such as Chloé, Prada, Armani, Jimmy, Choo, Holt Renfrew, Bloomingdales and the Hudson Bay Company, Marika launched her eponymous collection, BROSE, in 2009, creating glam dresses for women who found themselves on the red carpet such as JLo, Dakota Fanning, Reese Witherspoon, Kayley Cuoco, Kristin Booth, Coco Rocha, and Nelly Furtado. Endorsed by the media and celebrities alike — Vogue, ELLE, People, Nylon, Marie Claire, Flare, The Bachelor, Tatler, America’s Got Talent, MTV, Lucky, Life & Style, America’s Top Model, Much Music, Hello! Magazine — the collection quickly expanded globally into 20 markets at top retailers by 2013.

During this time, Marika launched her lifestyle blog, Brose Nose, a personal journal curating her travels and experiences in fashion, design, and food. This garnered much success, earning her sponsored trips to fashion weeks globally, most notably Brazil, as well as becoming an ambassador to emerging new brands such as Warby Parker and AirBnB.

In 2014, together with her husband, Marika founded a boutique digital marketing agency, Blacksoc, which currently services clients across 48 countries.  Their nimble and accessible agency has a roster of brands both big and small, including Uber, Comcast, L’Oreal, The Salvation Army, Gillette, and Remax. Blacksoc is focused on helping brands understand themselves and how to achieve greatness, garnering several global awards along the way.

Today, as Marika travels the world and lives in different countries and cultures, Marika Brose Design Inc has broadened its services to include designing capsule collections, offering creative design marketing services, and scouring the market for hot selling “it”ems.

Marika has also been a Contributing Editor to several Canadian fashion publications, and actively supports charities and organizations for animals rights and cruelty-free animal farming.
